I was in an online networking group for small farmers and agritourism the other day, and one participant remarked that they are “super busy with the new pictures we just put on the web.” They have touched on something that for many small business owners can be one of the trickiest parts of building their digital marketing strategy — having a pleasing visual presence and a professional look on your website.

Here’s a pretty good post on just what kind of skills you should have when you decide to build a site using WordPress. I don’t agree with everything 100%… for example I’m not recommending Gutenberg to my clients quite yet (I include the paid version of Beaver Builder in my Signature packages instead), but I agree that Gutenberg is here to stay. I might also move basic SEO, learning to use an SEO plugin, and Google Analytics up to “Beginner,” as these go to the heart of lead generation and spreading awareness of your business – usually the main reasons why you need a website in the first place.
